Both, his professional practice and his relationship, are threatened by the rise of the Ku Klux Klan and their virulent anti-immigrant, anti-Catholic influence. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text alignwide has-media-on-the-right\" style=\"grid-template-columns:auto 35%\"><figure class=\"wp-block-media-text__media\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"183\" height=\"275\" src=\"https:\/\/www.alan-rose.com\/wordfest\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/Dangerous-Medicine-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1004\"\/><\/figure><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jeff read from the first book of his trilogy, <strong><em>Acquaintance<\/em><\/strong>,\nat WordFest in 2018. He returns on June 11 to complete the series with the second\nand third volumes, <strong><em>Chicago Blues<\/em><\/strong> and <strong><em>Dangerous Medicine<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Growing up in a small town in rural Washington State, Jeff studied\nliterature, history, and cinema at Occidental College and later earned a BFA in\nTheater from Fort Wright College.
