{"id":44,"date":"2010-10-31T09:13:12","date_gmt":"2010-10-31T16:13:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.alan-rose.com\/wordfest\/?p=44"},"modified":"2010-10-31T09:13:12","modified_gmt":"2010-10-31T16:13:12","slug":"naturalist-robert-michael-pyle-launches-new-book-at-wordfest","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.alan-rose.com\/wordfest\/naturalist-robert-michael-pyle-launches-new-book-at-wordfest\/","title":{"rendered":"Naturalist Robert Michael Pyle launches new book at WordFest"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><font style=\"font-family: garamond,serif\" size=\"4\"><strong>Robert Michael  Pyle<\/strong> will be launching his newest book, <em>Mariposa Road<\/em>, at the next  WordFest gathering on Tuesday, November 2, at 6:00 pm at The Brits.<\/p>\n<p>Bob is a Yale-trained naturalist and the author of fourteen books,  including <em>Chasing Monarchs<\/em>, <em>Where Bigfoot Walks<\/em>, and <em>Wintergreen<\/em> (These books are all available at The Brits&#8217; bookshop.)<\/font><\/p>\n<p><font style=\"font-family: garamond,serif\" size=\"4\">He will be discussing and reading from <em>Mariposa Road<\/em>, which relates  his travels in 2008, when he set out to see as many North American  butterflies as he could in one year. He relates stories of the people, experiences,  as well as the butterflies he encountered along the way. Copies of his  book will be available for sale and to be autographed.<\/p>\n<p>During the second hour, poets <strong>Carolyn Norred<\/strong> and <strong>Karen Bonaudi<\/strong> will  host a &#8220;Poetry Night&#8221; where local poets will read and receive feedback  on their poems.<\/p>\n<p>Carolyn, a WordFest  favorite, is a retired instructor of  language and literature, and brings years of experience of helping poets  find their voices.<\/p>\n<p>Karen is a former president of the Washington Poets Association.  Her poetry has been published in a number of journals, and she has  received awards from the Washington Poets Association and the Washington  Community College Humanities Association. Her chapbook of poems,  <em>Editing a Vapor Trail<\/em>, was published in August by Pudding House Press.<br \/>\n<\/font><font size=\"4\"><span style=\"font-family: garamond,serif\"><\/span><\/font><\/p>\n<p><font size=\"4\"><span style=\"font-family: garamond,serif\">The  restaurant opens at 5:30 and a select menu is available for those who  wish to enjoy a meal, and Capstone Cellars offers a variety of wines.<strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/span><\/font><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Robert Michael Pyle will be launching his newest book, Mariposa Road, at the next WordFest gathering on Tuesday, November 2, at 6:00 pm at The Brits.
