He earned an MFA at Rutgers University in Newark, NJ and his poetry has appeared in numerous journals including\u00a0<em>Common Knowledge<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Arsenic Lobster, Hyphen Magazine<\/em>, and\u00a0<em>The Raven Chronicles<\/em>.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\n\nHe is a former Oregon Literary Arts Fellowship recipient and works for Multnomah County managing education and anti-poverty initiatives. George<\/strong> has worked as a wildland\nfirefighter, a sportswriter, and an educator, including five years as a\nlanguage arts teacher at Coweeman Junior High School in Kelso. He is the author\nof <strong><em>Vengeance Burns Hot<\/em><\/strong> and <strong><em>Cooper\u2019s Loot<\/em><\/strong>, both published in\n2019, as well as short stories and poetry. But then a\ncryptic text, followed by deadly attacks from an anti-government militia, engulf\nEd in a deeply personal way. Is Ed\u2019s son part of the militia, or trying to\nescape from it, or both? In seeking the answer, Ed risks his career, his new\nrelationship, and his life.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There\nwill be an open mic period following the presentations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"> The monthly gathering of readers and writers meets the second Tuesday of each month, 6:00-8:00 PM, at Cassava.
